WaterisLife is a non-profit organization dedicated to bringing clean water to countries across the globe. With Deutsch they brought VR headsets and a virtual reality game to the rivers of southeast Asia as an educational tool to help village children learn about the hidden dangers in the water.
As the primary digital designer on the project I worked with UX and production to concept and produce the online representation of the full campaign.
When people think of regions in need of water most wouldn't think of Southeast Asia. With a wealth of rivers and green jungles one would not suspect that these areas are suffering from a lack of clean water. We had originally concepted an interactive tour that would have gamelike interactions that would mimic the VR experience of the campaignand take our users on a journey and educating them along the way. But, not everything goes according to plan. We didn't get 95% of the assets we had planned for, so we had to adjust and reconcept the entire site with weeks to go. So we built out an editorial-ish style site that leveraged the assets we had and we leaned head first into our dev capabilities.

We created a rich underwater experience that was full of movement and yet still templated in order to be achievable in our timeframe. Users would plunge underwater to learn about each individual pollutor and at the end of each page they'd be prompted to donate. Each donation was scaled by what it would contribute to, whether that be a life straw, a new well, etc.
